⚠️ Quote distorted and given a different meaning. Here’s what Warren Buffett, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, actually said in 2001 during a speech to business students at the University of Georgia. The tone was deliberately tongue-in-cheek. He asked students to imagine they could hire any of their classmates, and to think about the criteria they would use to make their choice or to reject someone. Warren Buffett then said: “(…) we look for 3 things when we hire people. We look for intelligence. We look for initiative or energy and we look for integrity. And if they don't have the latter, the first two will kill you because if you're going to get somebody without integrity, you want them lazy and dumb. I mean, yeah, you don't want them smart and energetic. “ More broadly, Warren was encouraging students to reflect on why they admire certain people and to work on correcting their own flaws while they were still young and able to choose the kind of person they wanted to become. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a9Lx9J8uSs Hear the specific quote here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpmY1aK3jP8
