Every year young Jews from around the world are taken on an all-paid-for "birthright" trip to Israel, financed by Zionist millionaires. The aim of Birthright is simply to indoctrinate and brainwash every new generation of diaspora Jews into becoming ardent Zionists. Sometimes the trip has the reverse effect.
It's important to note that Palestinian refugees who were expelled or forced to flee by Zionists during the creation of Israel and now number 6 million+ are not allowed to exercise their legal right of return while any Jewish person born in the world can claim their "birthright" and travel to Israel - for free. Also, any Jew can even claim their right to "aliyah" and become a citizen of Israel. "Aliyah" in Hebrew means "to ascend" - a concept that is rooted in Jewish supremacy. Also, as if becoming a citizen of a racist and apartheid state is an ascension.
Here is Jewish American comedian Adam Friedland describes his negative "birthright" experience.
Taglit-Birthright is an Israeli non-profit organisation established in 1999 to reinforce Jewish identity and the connection with the State of Israel among the Jewish diaspora. It achieves this by providing a 10-day trip to Israel for all young from a Jewish background aged 18-26 who express an interest.
Since its beginning, the program has benefitted 800,000 young people, primarily from the United States.
This program has served as a model for similar initiatives, including Birthright Armenia for the Armenian diaspora and Birthright Greece for the Greek diaspora. Notably, Taglit-Birthright is characterised by the befuddlement between religion and national identity.
Regarding the comparison with the situation of the Palestinian diaspora, it is indeed true that the 700,000 Palestinian refugees who fled or were displaced after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, along with their 6 million descendants, are prohibited from returning. UN Resolution 3236 emphasises the “inalienable right of Palestinians” to “return to their homes and property, from which they had been displaced and uprooted " and calls for their return. However, Israel refuses to implement this resolution.
