❌ A highly fallacious shortcut.
How do we know? We checked the 2 links at the bottom of those images, both articles date back to 2017.
1️⃣ In the Newsweek article about Russia (https://archive.is/uQ1Qj):
an increasing number of individuals face imprisonment as Russia tightens its laws. Danii is charged as a criminal and assimilated to extremists and terrorists for reposting "funny" images targeting the Russian Orthodox Church, a key Kremlin ally. The article highlights similar criminal cases arising from criticising Russia's war in Ukraine, denouncing corruption, and political dissent.
2️⃣ In The Times article about the UK (https://archive.is/mfJ9J):
the British government is intensifying the campaign against social media hate speech: http://tinyurl.com/4tc5vz44.
Prosecution is mandated if the breach is motivated by prejudice or if the suspect targeted or demonstrated hostility towards the victim. The interpretation can be tricky.
