Red and black ants in English

Put a red ant and a black ant together in a jar. They’ll coexist peacefully. Now… shake the jar. Suddenly, they start attacking each other. 👉 The ants think their enemy is the other color. But the real enemy? The hand that shook the jar. That’s exactly how the corporate world works. 🔹 Teams vs. Teams 🔹 Sales vs. Marketing 🔹 One department vs. another We often fight each other, forgetting that sometimes the real "enemy" is external— → Market conditions → New competition → A disruptive change we weren’t prepared for The key lesson? Stop wasting energy attacking your colleagues. Instead, identify who/what is shaking the jar. Because in business (just like in the jar), survival depends on collaboration, not conflict. 💡 Before reacting, ask yourself: Am I fighting the wrong enemy?

❌ This is false! This story has been shared hundreds of times on social media, especially on LinkedIn: http://tinyurl.com/yjh7maxx In some posts (http://tinyurl.com/4nkwp8fc, the text is attributed to David Attenborough. He confirmed through his lawyer to AFP that he “categorically denies ever having made any such statement”. Entomologist Lori Lach, from James Cook University (Australia), explains that whether or not you shake a jar containing two species of ants, they will likely be aggressive toward each other. According to this “inspirational” story, colour seems crucial for ants to tell friends from enemies. That is not the case: they mainly use tactile (touch) and olfactory (smell) cues to recognise each other. Entomologist Philip S. Ward of the University of California, Davis, concurs: “If you place ants of different species in a jar, they will generally behave aggressively to individuals of the opposite species, regardless of whether the jar is shaken or not,” The AFP fact-check: https://cvc.li/snhxH And Snopes: http://tinyurl.com/27fa969z
