Chess grandmaster Anna Muzychuk refuses to play in Saudi Arabia and says: "In a few days I will lose two world champion titles, one after the other. Because I decided not to go to Saudi Arabia. I refuse to play by special rules, wear an abaya, or be escorted by a man to leave the hotel because I don't want to feel like a second-class person. I will stick to my principles and will not take part in the World Rapid and Lightning Chess Championship, where in just 5 days I could win more money than in dozens of other tournaments combined. This is all very sad, but the worst thing is that no one cares. A bitter truth, but there is no turning back”. Anna Muzychuk

Source : https://lnkd.in/dJ3qxiTk 3️⃣ Anna won her titles in Iran a few months earlier (March 2017). Tournament during which the hijab was imposed. And she wore it. At the time, it must not have bothered her... Source : https://lnkd.in/dpTm_uqC 4️⃣ Perhaps the most interesting part of this story has been forgotten...
